NFCU Campus Development - Vienna, Virginia
Work is progressing furiously at the new Annex facility on the NFCU Campus Development Project. Curtain wall systems are being installed, the roofing is underway and the building should be weather-tight soon. Interior wall construction, raised floor installation, and the MEP infrastructure systems are all about 70% complete.
The building is now beginning to look like the rendering by the architect, J3 Design Collective. With all of the concrete and structural work completed, much of the pre-cast and glazing systems installed, and all of the major MEP system equipment in place, it is now a pretty impressive site to visit. There is lots of activity on every level of the facility as the sub-contractors work diligently to prepare the infrastructure for start-up.
Very soon, the condenser water system and the chilled water will be filled and flushed to prepare both systems for operation to condition the interior of the building to accommodate the installation of the interior finishes. We expect to be at the site weekly during the start-up and initial operation of the MEP systems. Bi-monthly meetings with the commissioning team are now scheduled and we are assisting in the planning of the execution of the commissioning testing.
This is a very exciting time at the project as equipment will be started for the first time. Lots to do over the summer so watch our blogs for updates soon!
