If you do, then the Environmental Protection Agency’s latest Energy Star announcement should be great news!  The EPA has decided to extend the deadline for submitting applications for a 2017 Energy Star Certification to Friday, December 15, 2017.  That is much later than the normal end of year deadline.  Applications received by December 15th, provided that they are complete and require no significant follow-up or changes, are guaranteed to receive a 2017 Certification if the application is approved.

Remember that all of the information on your facility’s Portfolio Manager must be updated for 2017, a site visit performed by an appropriate consultant, and the last 12 month of your utility bills must be reviewed by your consultant before you can submit an application.  This process can take up to a few weeks to coordinate, arrange, and complete.

So, it’s that time of year again!  Despite the additional grace period, don’t delay – get started now to allow adequate time for the submission, review, and comment process.  If you need assistance on any aspects of the Energy Star application, Portfolio Manager updates or, if you have never applied for an Energy Star rating before, do not hesitate to call us.  We are happy to help.  You don’t want to miss out on getting your 2017 Energy Star rating!
